Ruling CLP in Karnataka favours simultaneous polls

Bangalore: The ruling Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Karnataka today (Feb 10, 2004) favoured holding simultaneous polls to Assembly and Lok Sabha in the State, but decided to leave the final decision to the party high command.

Briefing reporters after the meeting tonight, the CLP secretary Karianna said it passed a resolution leaving the final decision to the high command and added, "We are ready to face simultaneous polls."

Asked if those who spoke favoured holding both elections together, he replied in the affirmative. "All favoured simultaneous polls."

Asked when the dissolution of the Assembly would take place, he said, "It will happen whenever it has to happen."
