IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh held in Stamp scam

Hyderabad: An IPS (Indian Police Service) officer in Andhra Pradesh was today (Feb 10, 2004) arrested by the State's Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.

Narasimha Rao, a Rajasthan cadre IPS officer of 1989 batch, was questioned yesterday (Feb 09, 2004) by SIT sleuths probing the scam, and was taken into custody today, police said.

Rao, who had worked as DCP-Crime(Deputy Commissioner of Police), was repatriated to Rajasthan last year.
