India now acknowledged as a global power: Sinha
Wednesday, February 11 2004 22:35 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: The Minister for External Affairs Yashwant Sinha today (Feb 11, 2004) said the entire world now acknowledged that India was a global power.

''Today the whole world is aware of the might of India's power. Our growth rate is exceptional for a Democratic country,'' Sinha told a seminar.

''If one considers unemployment is the biggest problem in India, then it is so even in the USA,'' he said.

Commenting on the ban on outsourcing by the American Senate, Sinha said it would have very little impact on India as it would affect only one to two per cent of business.

Earlier, talking to newsmen, he said development would be the main plank in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
