Copter crash: Bihar DGP, home secretary escape unhurt

Patna: Bihar director general of police (DGP) Waris Hayat Khan and home secretary B K Haldar had a miraculous escape when the State Government helicopter carrying them to Munger overturned on landing on the helipad there today (Feb 12, 2004).

Both officials are safe and did not sustain any injury, IG (headquarters) Neelmani said.

Officers and jawans of Indian Air Force, present at the time of landing, pulled the two officers out of the chopper safely without any bruises.

The two had gone to Munger to supervise security arrangements for the proposed visit of President A P J Abdul Kalam on February 14.
