Musharraf to share nuke leak details with Japan Thursday, February 12 2004 17:46 Hrs (IST) Islamabad:
Amid global alarm over the nuclear proliferation by the clandestine network of the country's top scientist A Q Khan, President Pervez Musharraf has promised to share with Japan the results of investigations into the sale of nuclear technology by Pakistani scientists to North Korea.
He also told the top brass of Pakistan military that all channels of leakage of nuclear technology from Pakistan have been sealed.
Musharraf, who met the Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Ichiro Fujisaki last night (Feb 11, 2004) said investigations into illicit nuclear transfers to North Korea had not yet concluded and Pakistan would share with Japan the results of investigations once they were finished.
Japan is one of the largest aide donors for Pakistan and was deeply concerned about the reports that Pakistan top nuclear scientist, Dr A Q Khan has admitted transferring nuclear technology to North Korea, besides Iran and Libya, Fujisaki said.
