Can Valentine's Day cards fight AIDS?

New Delhi: Can Valentine's Day cards fight AIDS?

The connection might seem odd, but the threat of the spread of the dreaded disease among the educated youth is for real.

Why an anti-AIDS initiative for youth on Valentine's? The majority of India's educated youth know the facts on AIDS. Then why is the disease on the increase among this group?

Two reasons could be found. One, because of the focus by all the AIDS groups on only the lower strata of society, an indirect message is being sent to the youth that AIDS is not something that affects the well-to-do, middle and upper middle-class educated youth.

The other reason, of course, is passion taking over reason.

The section has more than 45 banners on AIDS messaging, with different text to appeal to different minds!

Please see http://connect.spreadjoy.com, an initiative by the India Sponsor Foundation, for more details.
