Agartala: An insurgent of banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have been killed in intra group clash and three other insurgents of the outfit surrendered with arms and ammunition in West Tripura district, police said today (Feb 14, 2004).

Acting on a tip-off, the joint team of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) raided Taidubari village under Bishalgarh police station of West Tripura district yesterday (Feb 13, 2004) and recovered a bullet riddled body of an insurgent of NLFT, identified as Satyen Koloy.

While returning with the body the security forces received information from a feeler that three more NLFT insurgents were hiding in the adjoining jungle to surrender.

Another team of police and TSR jawans reached the spot in the area and received the insurgents, identified as Shanti Debbarma, Tara Kumar Debbarma and Satyaranjan Debbarma who deposited one AK 56 rifle, one Chinese sniper rifle, three magazines and 495 rounds of live cartridges.

Police said the three surrendered insurgents had killed Satyen as he was against surrender and then they surrendered to the police.
