The aircraft was flown by Gr Capt R K S Badhuria at an altitude of 11 kms and speed of 1.1 Mach during the 10th test flight of PV-1, which had its maiden flight last year end, the sources said.
Tejas is undergoing extensive flight tests and flutter tests both in subsonic and supersonic speed.
Ten flights of TD-1, TD-2 and PV-1 have broken the sound barrier. LCA has completed 156 flights on the three aircraft ever since its first flight in Jan 2001.
The sustained supersonic flights of over 10 minutes has been carried on TD-1 and TD-2 and all systems are functioning as per the design intent, the sources added.
