Congress needs some 'treatment' to feel good: Jaswant Friday, February 20 2004 21:03 Hrs (IST) Mumbai:
Taking a dig at main Opposition Congress, the Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh today (Feb 20, 2004) prescribed "some treatment" for the party to realise the prevailing feel good factor in the country.
"Today there is a widespread feel good 'bhavna' all over the country, but the Opposition especially Congress party is not feeling good," Singh said, adding that "they (Congress) needs some treatment to realise it".
While addressing the business community members and chartered accountants at Ghatkopar in Northeast Mumbai, Singh said, "If Congress is not feeling good about the country only as a political agenda, then it is unfortunate."
Under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India's self-respect, self-pride and confidence has increased and "this fact can not be denied".
"India today, which is on the path of accelerated growth is also shining in the fields of creating wealth, infrastructure, economy, international relations. How can anyone deny the fact India is shining?" Singh added.
