Islamabad: Expressing satisfaction over the roadmap finalised by Indian and Pakistani officials to resume composite dialogue, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that progress on normalisation process between the two countries was linked to progress on the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Musharraf, during a meeting with the EU (European Union) Troika delegation led by Ireland Foreign Minister Brian Cowen, expressed satisfaction over the moves made by India and Pakistan in confidence building and towards normalisation of ties, official media reported today (Feb 20, 2004) in Islamabad.

He told the EU delegation, which called on him last night (Feb 19), that progress on improvement of relations was linked to progress on Pakistan-India dialogue, which included settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.

The delegation included Bernard Rudolf Bot, Foreign Minister of the Netherlands and Chris Patten, EU Commissioner for External Relations.

Musharraf briefed the Troika on Pakistan-India relations and expressed hope that both the countries will remain meaningfully engaged to resolve all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir.
