BJP State unit demands 'status paper' on stamp scam
Friday, February 20 2004 15:54 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Karnataka unit BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 20, 2004) demanded the State Government to publish a "status paper" on the extent of revenue loss the exchequer suffered on account of fake stamp paper scam and the steps initiated by the Government to check it.

The State unit BJP president Anantkumar alleged at a press conference that the SIT (Special Investigative Team) was not serious in investigating the scam and the State Government not cooperating with CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), to which the probe has been entrusted now.

He also charged that Congress, Janata Dal, Indian Union Muslim League and CPM (Communist Party- Marxist) have entered into a secret pact to fight the coming elections and dared these parties to make this tie up public.

Kumar charging the Congress as pseudo secular party claimed that BJP was the only secular party in the country.

Earlier, he welcomed 25 AIPJD (All India Progressive Janata Dal) leaders including former MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly), N Nagaraj into the party fold.
