Charges against Cong MP for killing RJD workers Saturday, February 21 2004 11:03 Hrs (IST) Munger (Bihar):
A district court today (Feb 20, 2004) framed charges against Congress MP (Member of Parliament) from Begusarai in the dissolved Lok Sabha Rajo Singh, his legislator son Sanjay Singh and nine others in connection with the killing of eight RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) workers including the party's Sheikhpura district president three years back.
The charges were framed by the additional sessions court Judge Gopal Krishna Jha against the accused under different sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
While charges against Singh and his relative Banke Singh were framed under Section 120 (b), charges against his son Sanjay Singh, a former Minister in the Rabri Devi ministry,
and eight others have been framed under Arms Act.
While Rajo Singh and his relative Banke Singh have been granted bail in the case, Sanjay Singh and others are still in Sheikhpura jail in connection with killing of Sheikhpura RJD
president Kashinath Yadav and seven others near Kanti bridge in Sheikhpura on September 26, 2001.
Next hearing of the case was fixed for February 24.
