Efforts on to rescue trapped workers at TISCO mine

Ranchi: Rescue work is in full swing to rescue the remaining three TISCO (Tata Iron and Steel Company) officials trapped in the company's colliery at Jamadova in Dhanbad district last night (Feb 20, 2004).

According to TISCO sources at Jamshedpur, the rescue team is looking for engineers Ajit Singh and Vishal Mishra and Mine Sardar B Singh who had gone into mine no six and seven-when the incident happened after the first shift was over and the workers had left the mine around 6 pm.

Engineer Mrinal Bhadra and supervisor A N Jha had been rescued, the sources added.

Deputy Commissioner Bela Rajesh and Superintendent of Police Sanjay Anand Latekar also visited the spot, 12 km from Dhanbad. Latekar also said efforts were on to rescue to three trapped miners.
