Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has ordered fresh investigations into 14 fake stamp paper cases involving scamster Abdul Karim Telgi, which were found pending at various police stations since several years, police sources said today (Feb 24, 2004).

Departmental action has been initiated against 10 police officers, who have been found negligent in investigating the pending cases, the sources said.

"Fourteen more cases against Telgi were found pending in various police stations, and these cases came into light only after police station in-charge in the city were personally asked to check pending cases," Satya Pal Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai Police, told reporters.
