Govt indefinitely puts off CAS implementation

New Delhi: The Government today (Feb 27, 2004) issued a notification, keeping implementation of Conditional Access System (CAS) in abeyance indefinitely.

"The Central Government, having been satisfied that it is necessary in public interest to do so, hereby suspends the operation of notifications of Government of India...from the date of publication of this notification until such date as may be notified by the Centre," the notification said.
