'Bari bari Atal Bihari', BJP's new poll slogan Monday, March 1 2004 14:58 Hrs (IST) Raipur:
"Bari Bari Atal Bihari" (Again and again Atal Bihari) would be the new BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) slogan for the next month's Lok Sabha polls, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said today (Mar 01, 2004).
"In the eighties, the BJP asked for votes saying 'Abki Bari Atal Bihari' (this time Atal Bihari), but now we would rather say 'Bari Bari Atal Bihari' to materialise the Vision 2004 of party president Venkaiah Naidu," Singh said.
Known for his strategy and encouraged by party's return to power under his presidentship in the State, the Chief Minister said they are determined to capture all the 11 Lok Sabha seats in the State from the current eight.
In the 50 years, Congress Governments had done nothing for the region except pushing it to reel underdevelopment, but it was Vajpayee, who not only created the new State, but also gave Rs 526 crore recently to connect all the villages, having population of 500 and above, through the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Singh said.
