IA will fly cricketers, public to Pak on March 10

New Delhi: Indian Airlines (IA) today (Mar 2, 2004) announced it would be the official carrier for the Indian cricket team and fly them to Pakistan on March 10 even as it brought out a special package for cricket lovers to enable them watch the Indo-Pak cricket series.

Announcing this at a press conference, IA CMD Sunil Arora said the March 10 special flight would be open for public also. The plane carrying the cricketers would leave from Delhi at 13:00 hours for Lahore and return here at 15:45 hours.

Coinciding with the Indian team's historic tour of Pakistan, Indian Airlines has tied up with Holiday Inn hotel in Lahore for a special package including discounted airfare, Arora said, adding this would be valid till April 30.

The three-night-four-day package to Lahore will be available from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Lucknow and Jaipur.

Sight-seeing visits would also be arranged in the package, which would come in effect on March 1 and continue till April 30, Arora said and added that there was a 10 per cent discount on the airfare.
