Israeli team to present report on Veerappan to K'taka

Jerusalem: A team of Israeli security experts, which visited Karnataka sometime back, would soon present a "feasibility report" on nabbing the forest brigand Veerappan to the State Government.

Representatives of an inter-disciplinary team of the Israeli Military Industries (IMI) and Integrated Security System Group visited Bangalore in January, at the invitation of the State Government and offered their expertise in apprehending the sandalwood smuggler, 'Israel 21c' weekly reported.

It quoted official sources as saying that the Israeli side is due to make a second visit soon to present a feasibility report on nabbing Veerappan.

The weekly also quoted Karnataka's director general of police, T Madiyal, as saying, "We are open to making use of advanced technology from anywhere."
