Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra joins JD-U

Patna: Three-time Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, who quit the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) recently, today (March 4, 2004) joined the Janata Dal - United (JD-U) along with a large number of his supporters.

Mishra joined the JD-U in the presence of its president George Fernandes and senior party leaders Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar at a function.

Along with Mishra, 33 of the 78 national council members of NCP, 347 State council members, 31 State executive members and 21 district presidents also joined the JD-U.
