Fresh incidents of communal violence in Vadodara

Ahmedabad: Fresh incidents of stone-throwing and communal clashes has been reported from Vadodara city police station area this evening (March 4, 2004), police said.

Joint Commissioner of Police K Kumaraswami said that incidents of stone-pelting were reported and police has rushed to the localities to control the situation.

He, however, did not confirm anyone being injured.

Unofficial report said that a rickshaw has been torched in the city and heavy stone-pelting occurred between the two communities.

Reports of stone-throwing and crude bomb blasts from communally sensitive localities were also reported.

There was tension in Yakoutpura area of the city following communal clashes and heavy stone-throwing late last night also when reports of crude bomb blasts spread panic.
