I am not against Priyanka or Rahul, says Advani Friday, March 12 2004 11:39 Hrs (IST) Coimbatore:
Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today (Mar 12, 2004) said that he has nothing against Priyanka or Rahul Gandhi, but was only against dynastic rule or succession.
Rahul and Priyanka are young and have good future. I am not against them, Advani told a press conference.
But I am against dynastic rule or succession, he said.
On BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) raking up the foreign origin issue of Sonia Gandhi in this elections, Advani said that it was not only BJP, but majority of the people of the country were raising voice on the issue.
However, the question is not that of foreign origin, but who is going to be the Prime Minister, he said, adding that people would select 'yogya' (ideal) person for that post.
"The issue is Vajpayee versus question mark," he said.
On the allegations by Congress that BJP was personally attacking Sonia and not the party, Advani said neither he nor Prime Minister had done so.
