Ten Sports to telecast Indo-Pak match tomorrow Friday, March 12 2004 20:55 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
TV channel Ten Sports today (Mar 12, 2004) agreed to provide live telecast feed to Doordarshan and all cable TV operators for the One-Day International between India and Pakistan for tomorrow (Mar 13, 2004).
A three-judge Bench headed by Chief Justice V N Khare heard the matter at his residence and recorded the undertaking of Ten Sports to provide the telecast feed to Doordarshan for tomorrow's match only.
The Bench listed the appeal filed by Ten Sports challenging the Madras High Court order for hearing on Monday (Mar 15, 2004).
The apex court restrained all other courts in the country from entertaining any petition on the issue.
The court took the petition for hearing and issued notice to Prasar Bharati.
For Prasar Bharati, attorney general Soli Sorabjee and solicitor general Kirit Rawal appeared before the court and said non-distribution of live telecast of the One-Day International match tomorrow through Doordarshan would deprive crores of people from watching the match live.
