Cricket: CODA to blackout Ten Sports in Mumbai
Friday, March 12 2004 19:48 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Cable Operators' Distributors Association (CODA) today (Mar 12, 2004) said they will blackout Ten Sports through their cables, but this will not affect the cricket fans in Mumbai, as Doordarshan will telecast the Indo-Pak cricket matches.

The cable operators will continue their protest against Ten Sports for its demand to ask six times more membership for the next one year on the pretext of telecast of Indo-Pak matches, CODA member Ganesh Naidu said.

Although they have not increased the rate per connection, the operators wanted almost six times more, which may not be possible and "also this amounts to a kind of blackout", Naidu said.
