Monday, March 15 2004 16:45 Hrs (IST)

Gaya (Bihar): Railway Minister Nitish Kumar along with some other Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leaders today (Mar 15, 2004) escaped unhurt when a dais from where they were to address an election rally collapsed in the town, official sources said.

As Kumar accompanied by some JD-U leaders climbed on the dais to address a 'Dalit Chetna' rally at the Gandhi Maidan in Gaya, it suddenly fell flat as large number of slogan-shouting party workers ascended the dais, sources said.

None was injured, they claimed.

Kumar and other JD-U leaders later addressed the gathering from the dilapidated dais.
