Surat: Congress leaders Prithviraj Chouhan, Kumari Shailaja and Ahmed Patel had a providential escape when the rear portion of their helicopter broke after landing at Kanvel village in South Gujarat.

Chouhan was reported to have been slung, when the rear portion of the chopper broke.

The mishap occurred hardly five minutes after the Congress president Sonia Gandhi landed in Surat for the two-day road show.

When asked Gandhi said, "No one was injured."
