Dismantle entire nuke export network: US to Pak

New Delhi: Asserting that the US would not be satisfied until the entire clandestine nuclear export network run by Pakistani scientist A Q Khan was dismantled, Secretary of State Colin Powell today (March 16, 2004) said he would speak to President Pervez Musharraf about the involvement of others in the operation.

On possible involvement of past Pakistani Governments or "anything that be taking place of contemporary nature", Powell, who is reaching Islamabad tomorrow, said, "I will speak to President Musharraf about this."

"We can't be satisfied until the entire network is gone branch and root," he said at a joint press conference after holding wide-ranging talks with External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha.

He said while US has been "pleased" to know about efforts to dismantle terrorist camps in Pakistan but stressed that this should be of a "permanent nature".
