Advani for construction of Ram, Bharat Mata temples Sunday, March 21 2004 18:08 Hrs (IST) Sagar (MP):
Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today (March 21, 2004) said a Ram temple should be constructed at Ayodhya and a "Bharat Mata" temple for the country.
"My yatra gives two messages - construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya and a temple of Bharat Mata for the country," Advani told a public meeting at Devri on the 12th day of his Bharat Uday Yatra.
Praising Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee for ensuring political stability in the country, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) agenda promised that by 2020 not a single village in the country would be deprived of electricity, water, education and road facilities.
Between 1988 and 1998, the country saw eight Premiers but during the past six years Vajpayee remained the only Prime Minister, he said expressing confidence he would once again become the head of Government after the coming elections.
Stating the BJP-led Government had put the country on the path to progress and prosperity, Advani said the BJP had come to power in Madhya Pradesh on issues like roads, power and water.
He said the BJP had won confidence of the people by making development as the core issue.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti said under BJP's leadership, India would emerge as the most advanced country by 2020 and MP the most developed State.
