Govinda joins Congress; says he may contest polls

New Delhi: Popular Bollywood star Govinda today (March 21, 2004) joined Congress, indicating that he may contest the Lok Sabha polls if asked by the party leadership.

"I can contest," Govinda told reporters after meeting Gandhi at her residence where he filled up his membership form of the party.

Senior party leaders Kamal Nath and Subirami Reddy were also present during the brief meeting Govinda had with Gandhi.
