PWG naxals set afire railway station in Andhra

Adilabad: Naxalites of outlawed People's War Group (PWG) set afire the Rechami railway station of South Central Railway in the district during the wee hours today (March 23, 2004).

Three armed naxals went to the railway station and threatened station master Anil Kumar and others to stop whatever they were doing before pouring petrol on the equipment, police said.

Later, they set afire the signal and communication instruments, computers and other furniture.

Police estimate the loss at about Rs 14 lakh.
