Kalam, Vajpayee greet people on Ram Navami Monday, March 29 2004 19:11 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Mar 29, 2004) greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami and hoped the festival would strengthen the feeling of brotherhood amongst the people and harmony and peace all around to build a prosperous and secure India "of our dreams".
Extending his best wishes on the occasion, Kalam said, "May the celebrations of this joyous festival strengthen the feeling of oneness and brotherhood amongst all our people."
He said the festival "reminds us about the values of righteousness, tolerance, fellow-feeling and amity, which all of us should imbibe in our daily lives".
In his message, Vajpayee said Lord Rama epitomises high values of righteous conduct and selfless service enshrined in the civilisational flow of not only India, but many other countries.
"May the Ram Navami strengthen harmony and peace all around to build a prosperous, happy and secure India of our dreams," he added.
