BJP warns Bihar Govt not to disturb Advani's yatra Tuesday, March 30 2004 13:34 Hrs (IST) Gopalganj:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Mar 30, 2004) warned that the Bihar Government would have to face serious consequences if the 'Bharat Uday Yatra' of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani was disturbed in the State.
Some politicians allegedly encouraged by the State Government were issuing "unwanted" statements, threatening to disturb Advani's yatra, which is scheduled to enter the State through Gopalganj on April 7. If any sort of disturbances were created during the yatra, the State Government would have to face serious consequences, party spokesman and one of the organiser of the yatra in the State, Lal Babu Prasad told reporters.
He said Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav should not forget that his party's supported V P Singh's Government at the Centre had fell following arrest of Advani during Ayodhya rath yatra in 1990.
"This time it will be the turn of RJD regime in Bihar, if DPM's yatra was disturbed," he warned.
Advani's 'Bharat Uday Yatra' would pass through nine Parliamentary constituencies and 42 Vidhan Sabha areas in the State.
Advani would address 13 public meetings during his two-day yatra starting April 7 in the State.
