Jaguar wreckage located; rescue teams despatched
Saturday, April 3 2004 16:46 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The wreckage of the two Jaguar fighter aircraft, which went missing during a sortie, was today (April 3, 2004) found at an altitude of over 4,000 metres in North Kashmir and Army rescue teams have been dispatched to retrieve them and look for the pilots as it was not possible for choppers to land at the site.

Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters located the wreckage of the two deep penetration strike aircraft strewn over an area of one km near wind-swept snowy peaks between Sonamarg and Gund, with the terrain not catering for any space for choppers to land, an IAF spokesman said.
