One Lashkar militant arrested in Delhi, arms seized

New Delhi: Delhi police has arrested a Pakistan trained Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant and recovered a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition from him, besides "hawala money".

Irshad Ahmed Malik was arrested from a South Delhi area, police sources said today (Apr 5, 2004).

One AK rifle, its two magazines, one pistol and a large number of rounds were found from him, they said, adding 2.75 lakh of "hawala money" was also recovered.

He was apparently in the national capital to establish a base for the outfit, the sources said.
