Sushma disapproves of Modi's language against Sonia Monday, April 5 2004 22:42 Hrs (IST)
Dharamsala:
Union Health Minister Sushma Swaraj today (April 5, 2004) said she disapproved of the language used by her party colleague and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi against Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her foreign origin issue.
Pointing out that the foreign origin of Gandhi was an important political issue which could not be ignored, Swaraj told reporters that she disapproved the use of "foul and derogatory" language in this context as "undesirable and uncalled for".
Swaraj, who launched the election campaign of former Union Minister Shanta Kumar, the BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha polls from Kangra at Shahpur, 20-km from here, said this was not a personal issue but the issue of the whole country and would continue to figure during the campaign.
But there was no need to use undignified and derogatory language, she said, adding she did not approve the language used by Modi.
