PM urges TDP to join NDA govt after LS elections
Saturday, May 1 2004 16:15 Hrs (IST)

Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Apr 6, 2004) appealed to TDP (Telugu Desam Party) to join the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) Government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls saying such a course will be a natural progression given the kind of understanding the two sides have.

Addressing a well-attended election meeting in the presence of TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Port Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Vajpayee said technically TDP is supporting the NDA Government from outside "but our partnership does not rest on just technical understanding".

"It is an alliance of common approach and commitment to development," he asserted.
