EC-Chautala row: EC may move SC against Haryana Govt
Saturday, May 1 2004 16:22 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) may move Supreme Court (SC) in a day or two against a defiant Haryana Government that has refused to comply with its order for immediate removal of state DGP M S Malik, whose wife is contesting Lok Sabha polls on a ruling INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) ticket.

The option of moving the apex court is being considered by the commission, which feels it has adequate powers to superintend, control and conduct elections.
