Deve Gowda files nomination from Hassan too

Bangalore: Entering the fray from the second constituency, former Prime Minister and Janata Dal - Secular (JD-S) president H D Deve Gowda today (April 7, 2004) filed his nomination papers for Lok Sabha polls from Hassan in his home district.

Gowda has already filed his papers from Kanakapura, seeking re-election from the constituency where he is facing TV journalist Tejaswini Ramesh (Congress) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Ramachandra Gowda.

Along with Gowda, B R Gurudev also filed his papers as JD-S candidate in Hassan, where State Minister H C Srikantiah is the Congress candidate.

Hassan will go to polls in the second phase on April 26 and Kanakapura in the first phase on April 20.
