Wednesday, April 7 2004 16:35 Hrs (IST)

Lucknow: Despite major Uttar Pradesh parties not lending him support, former Union Minister and senior Supreme Court lawyer Ram Jethmalani today (April 7, 2004) said he will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections against Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee as an independent candidate from Lucknow supported by Congress and some other parties.

"Besides Congress, the Left parties, Rashtriya Janta Dal and Lok Janshakti Party have also extended their support to me as an independent candidate," Jethmalani told reporters.
