'Rudderless Cong will have no idea on peace process' Wednesday, April 7 2004 12:57 Hrs (IST)
Ranchi:
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi today (Apr 7, 2004) said the country would like to know whether the Congress supports the current peace process initiated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"The Congress should make it clear whether it supports the peace process initiated by Vajpayee or whether it has an alternative to it. I do not think a rudderless party like the Congress will have any such idea," Joshi told a press conference in Ranchi.
He said the "rudderless" Congress was drifting away and challenged the Opposition party to come out with a five-year action plan/programme for the nation.
Listing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government's achievements, Joshi said the country, under Vajpayee's leadership, had improved its position vis-a-vis three/four international players.
"The Prime Minister's peace initiative in South Asia and his campaign against rooting out terrorism from across the globe has made him a towering personality among the world leaders," he said.
