VHP's 11-point Hindu agenda includes temple, Art 370 Thursday, April 8 2004 20:07 Hrs (IST)
Shimla:
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Vice-President Acharya Giriraj Kishore today (Apr 8, 2004) released an 11-point Hindu agenda focussing on Ram Temple, Common Civil Code, Article 370 and ban on cow slaughter and declared that the VHP would only support those candidates who stood by its agenda.
Addressing a press conference, he said that the VHP would not extend blanket support to any party and its activists would be free to support any candidate whom they consider worthy of support on the basis of the Hindu agenda.
The VHP leader hoped that a grand Ram Temple would be constructed at Ayodhya after the title suit was decided by the court but did not give any categorical assurance to accept the court verdict if it went against the wishes of the VHP.
He demanded abrogation of Article 370 and said that the constitution had no provision for a country within the country.
Acharya Kishore said that any Kashmiri was allowed to purchase land anywhere in India but even the President cannot buy land in Jammu and Kashmir which was ridiculous.
