Bhopal: Describing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress as two sides of the same coin, All India Hindu Mahasabha today (Apr 13, 2004) announced its decision to field about 100 candidates, including five in Madhya Pradesh for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

"BJP is no different from Congress. In fact it is just a carbon copy of Congress...Both are two sides of the same coin," Mahasabha secretary Indrapal Singh told reporters in Bhopal.

He said the Mahasabha, which works for safeguarding the interests of Hindus, would field its candidates from Bhopal, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind and Rewa constituencies in Madhya Pradesh in the forthcoming polls.

Describing Hindu Mahasabha as one of the oldest organisations working for Hindus, Singh said it was formed at Hardwar in 1915 and favours a uniform civil code, scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and complete ban on cow slaughter.
