Pak seeks India's help to gain entry into ARF
Wednesday, April 14 2004 20:18 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad: Pakistan today (April 14, 2004) said it has sought India's support to facilitate its entry into the Asian Regional Forum (ARF).

India alongwith 22 other ARF countries have been approached by Islamabad for supporting its entry into the prestigious regional forum, Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan told reporters.

He was asked about reports that India was lobbying to prevent Pakistan from entering the ARF.

"Pakistan's entry into ARF would be useful for ASEAN in confidence-building measures, in conflict resolutions, peace and security in general and in fighting terrorism. So there could be some value addition there," Khan said.
