Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah today (Apr 19, 2004) escaped a bid on his life when militants threw a grenade on his motorcade in Badgam district, which exploded in the air, but caused no injuries.
Militants fired a rifle grenade on Abdullah's motorcade in Sonargund village when he was heading for Raithan village to address an election meeting around 14.00 hrs (IST) official sources said.
