I will not leave poll battle in Rajasthan: Dharam Wednesday, April 21 2004 21:49 Hrs (IST)
Bikaner:
Actor-turned politician Dharmendra, who is in the thick of a controversy over his relationship with actress and Rajya Sabha member Hema Malini, has said he would not leave the poll battle for "baseless allegations" levelled against him.
"Those who have tried to scare me by levelling baseless allegations should know that I would not leave the poll battle in Rajasthan," Dharmendra told a public meeting in Bikaner last night (Apr 21, 2004), without naming the Congress party.
"I will not get tired and sit down due their remarks nor turn around to hide face from struggle that I took up," he said.
"I will continue my struggle and the campaign caravan would go on in all villages of the constituency," he said.
Dharmendra, who is on poll trail to this Lok Sabha constituency for the last three days, is out to win people's heart with the dialogue of 'Sholay', saying if the water and other problem were not solved he would climb up to 'Qutub Minar'.
He also promised a film studio in the Bikaner constituency if voted to power.
To mark 'Akha Teej' (local festival) celebrations, thousands of kites with Vajpayee's and his names were distributed to children.
