BJP frustrated and nervous: Rahul Gandhi Wednesday, April 21 2004 22:26 Hrs (IST)
Amethi:
Congress nominee from Amethi Parliamentary constituency Rahul Gandhi said today (Apr 21, 2004) that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was raking up the issues of the foreign origin of his mother and Bofors, as it had become "frustrated and nervous" at the realisation that his party was poised to regain power at the Centre.
Talking informally to reporters, he said that as the BJP had failed to solve the problems facing the masses, it was trying to divert the people's attention by raising irrelevant issues.
Rahul said that the BJP was feeling good, although no section of society was happy with the policies being pursued by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government.
He said that it was easy to grab power by invoking religion but progress and development cannot be achieved.
In the second phase of election campaign, Rahul addressed a series of public meetings at Jagadishpur, Shukul Bazar and Jamo.
