Repoll at 11 LS constituencies in Bihar begins Friday, April 23 2004 10:15 Hrs (IST)

Repoll began this morning (Apr 23, 2004) at 349 polling stations spread over 11 of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar that went to poll in the first phase on April 20.
Official sources said that the repoll was so far peaceful.
Repoll was in progress at 18 booths in Patna, 61 in Jehanabad, 17 in Barh, 32 in Gaya, 22 in Buxar, repoll, 53 in Bikramganj, 10 in Sasaram, 42 in Aurangabad, 38 in Ara, 12 in Nalanda and 44 in Nawada.
Repoll in 143 booths was ordered by the Election Commission as the electronic voting machines did not function properly, while revolting in 70 booths was taking place as anti-socials damaged the EVMs. In rest of the booths, the repoll was ordered due to some electoral malpractices, the sources said.
