Gopalganj: Senior Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader and Railway Minister Nitish Kumar today (Apr 23, 2004) escaped unhurt when his helicopter developed some snag and made an emergency landing in a field near Manjha block in Bihar's Gopalganj district.

Some unusual sound was heard from the rotar of the helicopter as it left Muzaffarpur after Union Minister's election rally at Manjha in favour of party candidate Prabhudayal Singh.

The pilot said it was Kumar who first pointed out the unusual sound.

After the plane landed in an open field, it was found that a few plastic flags of JD-U had got entwined in the rotar due to wind.

The flags were removed and after a halt of half-an hour, the helicopter left for its next destination, the pilot said.

Sources close to Kumar said no one was injured in the incident.
