14 Iraqis killed, 36 wounded in three explosions

Baghdad: Fourteen Iraqis were killed and 36 wounded in at least three explosions today (April 24, 2004) in Baghdad's Shiite Muslim slum of Sadr City, according to reports.

The explosions took place in the chicken market, Al-Habibia and Al-Shawader neighbourhoods, but it was not immediately clear what caused them.

A 35-year-old woman also died in a separate blast at a home in the Al-Habibia neighbourhood that seriously injured a five year-old girl.
