Cong will be baffled to see our victory margin: PM Monday, April 26 2004 15:53 Hrs (IST)
Ratangarh:
Opening his campaign in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Apr 26, 2004) expressed confidence that his Government would return to power after the Lok Sabha elections and said Opposition would be "baffled to see our victory margin".
"Why should I say we shall do this or that if returned to power? We are certainly coming back to power as we are getting enthusiastic support from people who are coming in large numbers to cast their votes," he said while addressing his first election meeting in Rajasthan in the current Parliamentary elections.
"No one was predicting that BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) would win 120 of the 200 seats in the recent Assembly elections in Rajasthan, but many were baffled when the results came out. Similarly Opposition would be baffled to see results of Parliamentary polls," he said.
Taking a dig at the Congress, Vajpayee said, "Our friends in Congress are worried over the results of exit polls, which showed a swing in favour of NDA (National Democratic Alliance)." Therefore, he said, "They are saying that they have no faith in exit polls.
"We are confident that people will vote for us so that we could give concrete shape to our dream of making India a great nation. In our dream of a prosperous and developed country, every State, including Rajasthan, has its beautiful place."
Calling upon people to take the opportunity of elections in giving his Government another term in office, Vajpayee said, "We want to serve the people and solve their problems sincerely".
