NDA win would further peace move with Pak: PM Monday, April 26 2004 18:33 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has said a renewed mandate to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would further the peace initiative launched by him to improve ties with Pakistan "in an unhindered manner and put it on a stable footing".
"We have initiated a peace process with Pakistan. This also needs to be continued in an unhindered manner...This has created a good atmosphere between the peoples of our two countries. We now need to put this on a stable footing," he said.
The Prime Minister stated this in a novel interview to an eighth class student Bhavesh Raheja of Chinmaya Vidyalay in Hyderabad organised by the city-based daily 'Deccan Chronicle', according to a release issued by the newspaper.
Responding to the questionnaire from the students, he said the peace process would help children both in India and Pakistan inherit a "better future, free of tension and conflicts".
